    Terry Adembesa

    Terrence has the responsibility of driving the implementation of the start-up activities for EABX, its strategy and ensuring the organization’s long term success and sustainability.

    He has more than fifteen years of senior management experience including over a decade in the development and commercialization of capital markets and products. Terry has played a central and significant role in the development of the Derivatives Market – NeXT, and the introduction of the Growth Enterprise Market Segment (GEMS) the Real Estate Investment Trusts (REITs), the Exchange Traded Funds (ETFs) and the FTSE International Index Series in the East African capital markets.

    Terry received a Postgraduate Certificate in Mechanics of Derivatives and Financial Products from Middlesex University, a Global Executive MBA from the United States International University in conjunction with the Frankfurt School of Finance and Management and a BBA with Honours in Management from the University of Eastern Africa – Baraton. He is a member of the Institute of Certified Investment and Financial Analysts (K) and a Chartered Member of the Chartered Institute for Securities and Investments (UK).

    Chief Operations Officer

    Joseph Gichuru

    Joseph is responsible for integrating the operational strategy and activities while optimizing technology for operational excellence. Joseph oversees the trading operations of EABX as well as the design, implementation, and support of the core technology systems that drive the organization’s business strategy.

    Joseph has over eleven years of experience leading implementation projects for stock exchange trading systems and related technologies. He oversaw the upgrade of the equities secondary trading infrastructure in 2019. He was also instrumental in the launch of the derivatives market in Kenya, by coordinating the deployment of an exchange trading and clearing platform. He has also previously worked in the insurance industry at Britam and the Kenyan Alliance Insurance Company as a Computer Networks Engineer, responsible for ICT installations and support, as well as data center management.

    Joseph holds a BSc. Computer Science degree from the Jomo Kenyatta University of Agriculture and Technology. He is currently pursuing an MBA in Finance from United States International University-Africa. He possesses certifications in CISM (Information Security Management), Prince2, ITIL (IT Service Management), and COBIT (IT Governance)

    Chief Legal and Regulatory Affairs Officer

    Eric Otonglo

    As CLRO, Eric is responsible for providing general legal counsel to the Company, in addition to overseeing the corporate responsibility and regulatory affairs functions of the business.

    Eric is an Advocate of the High Court of Kenya with over eighteen years post-qualification experience. Prior to taking up this role, Eric was in private practice as a partner in OAK Advocates LLP, where he mainly dealt with corporate and commercial matters. Earlier, Eric spent nine years working as in-house counsel in the commercial banking sector at Stanbic Bank and National Bank of Kenya, respectively, and rose to the position of senior legal counsel and deputy head of legal responsible for Kenya and South Sudan at Stanbic. Eric’s formative years as a lawyer were spent at Njoroge Regeru & Company Advocates where he was exposed to extensive commercial legal practice.

    Eric holds an LL.M Degree in International Commercial Law from Leicester University, LL.B from the University of Nairobi, Diploma in Law from the Kenya School of Law, and is a Certified Public Secretary. He additionally has specialist interests in the law of financial derivatives.

    Chief of Staff

    Geoffrey Radier

    Geoffrey has the responsibility to ensure that all administrative, strategic, and operational aspects are running smoothly. He handles several principal duties, all focused on managing risk, making time, information, and decision-making processes more effective.

    Geoff has over nine years’ experience in capital markets. He played a key role in the establishment of the derivatives market handling business development, product development and overseeing trading, clearing and settlement operations. Geoff also has experience as an Investment Analyst from his time at Harbour Capital and as a Derivatives Trader and Analyst at Constellation Capital in South Africa where he traded and helped manage futures and options portfolios for Banks, Fund Managers, Hedge Funds and High Net Worth Individuals on the Johannesburg Stock Exchange.

    Geoff holds a First Class Honours degree in Finance from the University of Cape Town (UCT) as well as certifications from the Chartered Institute for Securities & Investment (CISI), Corporate Finance Institute (CFI), Frankfurt School of Finance and Management, and the South African Institute of Financial Markets (SAIFM).
